Alright, let's try this again

This is my new neighbor, Mr. Frosty the Snowman. He moved in early Saturday morning (i don't expect hime to stick around very long, but he is still there today).

witness the birth of a snowman

Marcus and Nicole did a very good job, don't you think?

this is the ornamental grass beside my driveway

this is the magnolia tree in my back yard

these two images are just snow covered leaves in my yard

During my last post on Saturday, I was interrupted by the little drama queen, with a minor crisis. I shut down my post in the middle of uploading more images of the 'Blizzard of 2008'. Yeah, I know I live in Alabama, and I only had about an inch of snow at my house, but if you listened to the talking heads and watched the weather radar, you would have thought all of central Alabama was going through whiteout conditions.

Anywho......I hope you enjoy the rest of the images from around my house and neighborhood on Saturday.

I spread bird seed on the handrails of my deck every morning to attract many different birds. Here are some images of the birds eating the seeds in the snow this morning.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!!!!

OK, forgive me. It has not snowed at my house here in Alabama since 1993. That time, we had 18 inches. Today, we had maybe an inch. Not the three to four inches predicted, but it was snow. It has been rare for the last few years.

Please indulge me and try to enjoy the images I shot in and around my home of birds feeding, snow on the branches and leaves of my trees, and Marcus and Nicole next door building a snowman.

Geaux, fight, win..........

Or another title to this post could be 'Speed Kills, part II', or 'Not in my back yard!'

Well, LSU is the BCS National Champion and Ohio State and the rest of the naysayers can back off of their argument that the SEC is not the toughest conference in college football. This left no doubt. LSU is far more talented, bigger, and faster than the team they played from the Big 10 Conference. Ohio State only had three decent players, the quarterback, the runningback, and one receiver. How did they make it through the year loosing only one game. Oh yeah, something called strength of schedule.

Oh well, just a few more visual observations in and around the BCS National Championship game. Like, what is a Buckeye? And what are those silly plumes on top of the OSU bands hats? And didn't someone tell the OSU band that the flooding in New Orleans subsided a couple of months after Katrina? It looks like Bob Levorone from the Sporting News found a nest of footballs.

Football season is now offically over, so i guess i will go into mourning until February when NASCAR begins. See you later..........

Speed Kills

Yep....just ask the University of Hawaii Warriors. Every way they turned, it seemed like someone from Georgia was there waiting on them to hit them really, really hard.

The game was over early in the second quarter. Georgia fans were chanting S-E-C.....S-E-C.....S-E-C. Hawaii fans were leaving early, then just after the third quarter started, Georgia fans begin shouting - Over rated....Over rated.

The game was boring, the officiating sucked, it seemed to never end, and I felt like a beginning photographer. I just could not get into 'the zone'. The only highlight of my night was when I walked by 1968? Sugar Bowl MVP Kenny Stabler during pre-game. He always ask me how i'm doing. I always tell him 'War Eagle'. That always makes him laugh, since he is an Alabama man, through and through.

Oh well, it's very late and the work room is still crowded. Gotta go.

Laissez les bon temps rouler

New Years Eve........New Orleans Style.

What more can I say?

Just a visual tour of New Years Eve on Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter with the Georgia Bulldogs and the Hawaii Warriors. Crazy fans from both teams, unusual sights on Bourbon Street, and watching the Chick-fil-a Bowl with a bar full of Auburn fans and Georgia fans rooting for Auburn. Go figure. Oh well, let's not forget about the fireworks over the Mississippi.

Let the good times roll.

Enjoy.
